ELEPHANT ROCK

As the road winds down from the Nyika highlands toward Lilongwe in Malawi, a massive granite formation comes into view—Elephant Rock. It's not apparent in this photo but from a favorable angle, the mountain indeed resembles the head of an elephant, as though fossilized from some ancient past when everything was larger than life.
