BLOW GUN

The blowgun is a traditional weapon used to hunt animals. Darts (in the attached side tube) tipped with poison (curare) ensure the rapid death of prey. This example, about two feet long is typical of those sold to tourists. An authentic blowgun lacks much decoration, is six feet long and a prized family possession.
