Britain's Prince of Wales has called for the protection of rainforests. Charles is founding The Prince's Rainforests Project, which will include attempts to make conservation of the world's rainforests commercially viable for the nations where they grow.

Man swims 3,000 miles down Amazon River PDF Print E-mail
On April 8, Slovenian Martin Strel completed a marathon swim down the full-length of the Amazon. The 3,000 mile swim took 66 days, during which Strel fended off piranhas, caimans and pirates. The swimmer hopes to raise awareness about the rainforest.
