What is RSS? PDF Print E-mail
RSS is a powerful technology that simplifies and speeds delivery of news to your computer. News items posted on
Jungle Photos News pages are available by RSS. To use this feature you need an RSS reader. You can use a free reader such as RSS Reader, Feedreader or NetNewsWire. (For more readers click here.) Alternatively, you can use a RSS-compatible browser such as Mozilla Firefox, or for Mac users, Safari 2.0. To render a page as RSS (syndicate the page) use the Syndicate menu below the main menu. (If the syndicate menu is absent, RSS is not available for that page. Each option such as RSS 1.0, RSS 2.0 and ATOM is a different technology. Most commonly used is RSS 2.0. The Syndicate module displays a link whereby you can syndicate the page for all the latest news. When you click on the RSS icon, you will be redirected to a new page that will list all the latest news in XML format. In order to use the Newsfeed in a Newsfeed reader, you need to cut and paste the URL. (Note that you can syndicate the site blog, Jungle Journal, and the Jungle Photos User Group forum by clicking on the XML icon on the page.)
