The Breadfruit (Artocarpus altilis) is not a native species - it was originally introduced from Tahiti (via England and Captain Bligh of "Mutiny on the Bounty" fame). In the picture, the round greenish fruits look fuzzy but they're actually covered with tiny spines. It is not a favored food but is relied upon when other crops fail.
