Mango (Mangifera indica) is not native to the Amazon - it is originally from Asia - but is nevertheless widely cultivated. When ripe, the yellow fruit is eaten on its own (in villages) or it is used to flavor drinks, or desserts such as ice-cream (in towns and cities). It's delicious!
