Grippa butterfly painting

return to gallery

Simply titled "Butterfly", this painting was completed in 1999. It appears to depict a type of swallowtail butterfly, but the exact species (if any) is uncertain. The style is typical Grippa; impressionistic splashes of color coordinated to create the main theme with directed paint spatters to evoke movement and activity. Note the signature (lower left). The work belongs in the collection of Ms. Ranieli Sann Ugan, London, England.
