The Amazon is a perfect environment for amphibians. An abundance of insect food and water to reproduce provide conditions for a large number of different species. The humid climate suits their permeable skins, and warm temperatures allow activity day or night. More often frogs and toads are heard, rather than seen, as their chorus provides a uniquely tropical ambience to the Amazon night.
